A great website for your online business is a necessity. This is your way of attracting loyal customers. Here are some tips to help you accomplish this:
Web design tip 1: Add a logo or label for business identification.
Make sure to have a unique logo or label for your site. Never do the “lazy” thing, that is, to just write your business name using a fancy font type. This is not the way to gain recognition online. Your logo is your online identifier. Through it, your customer can recognize your business and your products right away.
Web design tip 2: Go easy on the colors and make sure that site is still professional-looking.
For a business website, it is necessary to keep the color mix to a minimum. A two- or three-color scheme usually is enough. This keeps everything simple and easy on the eyes. Plus, these colors also become business identifiers. So, make sure your colors are professional and veer away from gaudy color schemes.
Web design tip 3: Have a good balance between image and text.
Images are essential in a website as these offer “breaks” for the eyes and make the site more attractive. Text is also necessary as it is how you convey information. However, it is important not to go overboard with either one. Too much text can turn off the reader. Too many images, on the other hand, makes the whole site seem irrelevant.

Once upon a time I opened my portable Mac computer to browse on the Internet. I chanced upon a website that was so attractive. It was really the best website for its unique graphics and clean lay out. I even thought I wanted to nominate it for the best website award. However, I found myself in the middle of nowhere when I went through its folders. It was confusing and I thought was that part of the design -- contents that are mind-boggling because they are really unorganized?
Organizing web contents is an essential matter for all web site developers. Contents are the most significant part of the web layout, aside from the graphic displays that are just for attraction anyway. Your contents, may it be words, images, or what ever, MUST always be put in a clean and correct folder. Organize your thoughts and organize your folders to have a better website.
Some ways to organize your web content include the following: Divide web contents in a logical manner. Always put the most important first on the list. Structure each folder's contents in a logical and chronological way. Check your website's design, including lay out and contents, if it is satisfactory or above expectation. You're doing good if it's the former, but you still need to develop it. Try visiting your site and check your contents. If you don't experience confusion, then you have everything right.

Many web templates are available for free downloads on the Internet. I'm sure you're currently using a downloaded template in your website. There's really nothing wrong with that. But, isn't it better to use your self-designed template and isn't it gratifying if people ask for your original template rather than you asking from other designers? Just bear in mind that web designing needs color for it to become an art.
Friday, May 4. 2007
First, create an artistic layout through Adobe Photoshop. Create a colorful bubble design or an electrifying dark layout. Play with your hands and experiment on different layouts. You can also alter a simple image like a flower or even your old picture. Rock it! Put color in every nook and cranny of your template for it to be more attractive and pleasing to the eyes. Go with dark colors but mix it with lighter colors. For example, a dark blue with a lighter blue, dark green with a lighter green color. Do this to attract more visitors.

You can also add some personal touches to make your design more original. Make your design your identity. It will then become a unique template because it is an expression of your personality. No one will ever ignore a website that has a great and unique design. Who knows? Advertisers might be asking you for a space on your website and pay you for it. You'd enjoy designing especially when there's money involved, won't you?

PDF files suck! This is my reaction everytime I encounter PDF files on the internet. And it is not only me who hate downloading PDF files. Even my officemates become pissed off, too. One of them describes it as "pain in the ass." I agree with him because downloading these kinds of files is annoying and irritating. It is very slow to load and I have to wait for three to five minutes before I can read the article. Worst, I cannot take a section and paste it to Word. I prefer files in HTML format so that I can easily copy the information that I need.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Use of PDF in websites is a big crime. Readers have to wait for the a special reader to start before they can see its content. Downloading also takes a longer time because PDF files tend to be stuffed with more fluff than plain web pages. Most readers find it hard to return to the website once they have opened a file in PDF format. PDF files, unlike websites, do not have standard navigation bars to operate. Also, these files' texts fit the printed page and not the computer screen. The layout is often optimized for a sheet of paper; unfortunately it rarely matches the size of the user's browser window. Therefore, goodbye smooth scrolling and hello to tiny fonts.

PDF is a great approach to present your files for printing. However, its usefulness only applies to that particular situation. It is a big no-no when it comes to websites. Or else, your website usability will have an estimate of 300% worse relative to HTML pages. This is just a rough estimate but regardless of statistics, one thing is for sure: PDF will not help your site. Therefore, do not ever use this format in your website.

Whether you have an online business or not, having your own official website is very important for the growth and progress of your business. The advantages of having your official website are countless, but the most important thing there is that you are opening your doors towards customers. An essential thing to consider in the web page design of your website is if it would be able to satisfy and answer the needs and questions of your customers. Your website should contain the background and history of the business.
It is more like your company's profile as this would reflect the strength and foundation of the business. Your customers would also like to see the various features and services that your company offers. This would give them the impression of your company's transparency and that you are more than willing to do business with them.
It should also have a room for your customers to make and send in their comments, suggestions, and feedbacks about the way your company do business with them, since this would only give you a wider perspective on the growing needs of your customers. It would also trigger building a larger room for improvement in terms of service. Hiring a web page developer or a web designer is necessary only if none of your employees have a single idea on how to create your official site. But keep in mind that your website is created for the benefit of your clients who will help boost your business.

Having a website is a must-have for every business. The website helps open more business opportunities, market your company's capabilities and attract more prospect clients. Thus, there are some things to consider if you are planning to setup your company's official website. First, is finding an excellent web designer if you're not capable of being one. When hiring a web designer, you must also consider you budget. You shouldn't spend thousands of dollars just to have a marketable web design. Hiring an expert designer is not a bad idea as long as you can give him the amount that he deserves.
But, like hiring a good interior designer for your dwelling, remember to check at his previous works first to determine if he will be worth your money. Second, you have to know who your customers are. This is very important because 75 per cent of your website's onlookers, well, of course, aside from your own family are your customers. You can ask for their suggestions on what they want to see when they log on to your site. Maximize customer service through your website.
Lastly, you have to be open to whatever consequences it would give your company. Whatever includes positive and negative feedbacks from people around your business. You might think it's completely mental, but remember that a website is just a tool for your business' success.

As much as I love creating my website, there are times when I just do not have enough time to finish it. When this happens to me, I usually decide to hire my web designer. I consider this as a better option for me rather than coming up with a web site that really sucks. That is just not my style because I want to be proud of the websites I own.
When I hire my web designer, there are some things that I have to consider. The first and more important thing I do is check out the sites he or she has already designed. Of course, doing this will help me decide if his or her style suits mine. Aside from that, I also look at these works to see of he or she can convey what I really have in mind. I consider it as a complicated process because I usually check out 5 to 10 websites before I decide to interview my prospective employee.
When I have chosen the applicants, my next step is to interview all of them. This part is important so that I can test their knowledge and skill in web designing. I also use this as a time to brief them about the project I have to finish. During this time, I tell them about the budget of the project, deadline, style of the website, and other things. There are a few cases when I lend them my personal computer so they can create a mini site. If I like what I see, then I hire them immediately.

Web design is vital to any online business. If you want to efficiently market your products to a wide range of clients, then you should give importance to both the appearance and content of your web page. Web design can either make or break your online business. Here are a few tips you can use in planning and creating your website.
First, design a site that will surely and immediately appeal to customers. Since your prime target is to be able to sell, make a site that effectively does the job. Remember, you only got a few seconds to draw a client's interest. Second, your web site must represent your company. Particularly, you should clearly specify all your products and/or services. Clients always seek clarity and transparency in business.
Third, state the advantages of your company over your competitors. It isn't only enough to promote your business. You should show your customers why they have to choose your products instead of others. Fourth, display consistency in your design. Make sure that all designs such as logos, images, and other effects connect to your entire business. A consistent web design will project a good impression of your online business.

When you make your online personal webpage, you should be proud of the finished product and not be ashamed of it. But, there are times when you just want to keep it to yourself because the web design (pardon my word) sucks. One basic solution to improve your website is to have an eye for detail.
In creating your website, the very first thing you should not do is make it look like an ad for TV. This kind of site has so much going on for the eyes that it is no longer good to look at anymore. This goes against your main purpose in creating the site, which is to get people to check out your online site.
Let me reiterate what I have said before: make it as simple as possible, especially if you are a beginner at this. As such, lessen your use of too many fancy fonts with curly cues, special effects, and stuff like that. The plain Arial or Times New Roman will do. It is also better not to use too many font sizes to make it look more pleasing and organized. However, these important rules usually depend on the online website you are making.

You have no idea how fulfilling it is to own a website until you are able to make one for yourself from scratch. If ever you are a beginner at creating and designing a site, you should prepare yourself for the hard work that goes with it. It will really test your patience, especially when you use HTML. But in the end, the long hours you spend on it will all be worth it when more and more people start visiting and admiring your creation.
When you are a beginner at web designing, one of my most basic tips for you is to make it as simple as possible. The reason for this is that you may have a hard time adding a lot of special effects on it. Just remember that a simple site will do because you are still a beginner. As time passes by, you will get used to it and you will be able to create the complicated sites you have always wanted.
There is another advantage of creating a simple site, and this is on the side of the viewers. When you have made an uncomplicated site, then it can be easily downloaded by internet surfers. The reason for this is that the size is not that big compared to other web pages.

Here's your situation: you do not need to create an award-winning website that is original, creative, and one-of-a-kind. All you need to achieve is a presentable site where you can upload your pictures and other important stuff with your internet connection. Instead of coming up with an original web design, there is an easier way to finish it without exerting too much effort. You can just use a design template for your web.
The web templates were created to make it easier for you to design your site. As such, the background for what you are doing is already given, you just have to modify it a little bit. When you do this, you can make your site unique even though you used a template. If you use a template, you can definitely save time, effort, and even money. You got that right, most web design templates are free so you do not have to shell out your hard-earned cash to use one. It can also save you time because you can easily load the design to the site you are making. Aside from that, you can choose from a lot of designs that suits your theme and your tastes.

W hen you create and design a website, you always need to give it your all. You should always keep in mind that there are millions of sites found on the internet. As such, you always have to make your own stand out among them. In order to achieve this challenging task, you have to concentrate on your web design.
In creating your website, there are a lot of mistakes you can do. Due to this reason, I am giving you the most basic mistake a web designer can do. First of these is using the PDF for the common purpose of reading online. Many internet users get a bit pissed off when web sites use PDF in their files. The reason for this is that it can break the flow of their surfing. Instead of reading the files you need right away, they still need to load this program. It can also be a bit tricky to use since it has a different format from other programs such as Microsoft Word. Aside from that, it can be tough to navigate because it shows the files page per page. This can lead to less and less people viewing your web site. If ever you are a web designer, try to avoid PDF files in your site because most people have a hard time with it.

Don't miss the opportunity to view and download the latest open source web designs from Open Source Web Design website. Here you'll find a load of over 1000 web design ideas that is easily downloadable. I am a fan of digital collages and kaleidoscopic visions.
It's no wonder then that I chose a design by LocaWapp which features bluish-white swirls on an ochre background, filtered and subdued with a whitish screen overlay and transposed into flaming red frames. This design may look messy but it suits my taste well.
Open source web designs are free but if you wish to acquire more from a particular designer you must purchase at a cost. All you have to do is browse and take your pick.

Your web page holds a key role in your business. Setting up your site then is a crucial task since its features can either make or break your business. While you can have the option of hiring a professional developer, you can also perform the task yourself. It is just a matter of blending your technical knowledge, creativity, and style together. More importantly, you have to be sensitive to the needs and demands of your clients.
In designing a web site there are five important elements that need to be considered namely: web page title, column number and arrangement, Computer graphics and colors, accessibility, and the content.

Web design has various meaning but generally, web design is the process of designing web pages, web applications as well as web sites. Web design can be also used to refer to the graphical design of a web page by the use of HTML (hypertext markup language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and other graphical user interface.
Tim Berners-Lee is the very first web designer being the Web inventor himself. Early web design only consists of simple HTML. But as time goes by, invisible layout devices and scripting such as CGI, ASP.Net, PHP, and ColdFusion have been used to change the future of web design.

Web design can now be considered an art form. There are almost infinite possible designs depending on the artistic talent and preference of the web designer. Web designing is a completely different discipline from computer programming. To create a professional web design many skills and technical knowledge are necessary. However, for beginners creating a web design could be as easy as clicking a mouse. There are web design software readily available which could be used to create professional-looking web designs. A beginner does not need to master the complicated tagging language of HTML or XTML but rather user-friendly menus are available.
